Sheikh Shuraim, born in 1966, is an alumnus of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh. He then went on to the Ma'had Al-'Aali Lilqadhah institute for his master's degree and earned his Ph.D. at Ummul Qura University in Mecca.

Sheikh Shuraim became one of the Great Imams of the Haram Mosque of Mecca in 1991. While performing his duties as a judge at the High Court of Mecca and as a professor at Ummul Qura University. He even served as Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies.
