Like other great imams of the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Faisal is an alumnus of Ummul Qura University. He obtained his master's degree in 1996 and his Ph.D in 2002. He has served as the Dean of the Faculty of Tilawatil Quran at Ummul Qura University, Mecca.
